Jaime Ross - Uruguay

Jaime ross is one of that musicians that feels proud of the place in wich he lives. He reflect it in everything he do, and, it´s one of our "embassartist".
I don´t like everythig he do, but, of course that is an excelent composer.
During the military goverment in our country (dictatorship) 1973 - 1985, he keeps playing, he formed a group "Canciones para dormir la siesta", songs for the sleep in the evening, and, of course, they say a lot of thing that they couldn´t say.
I think, that for him like an artis, to live that period, was noe of the things that mark him.

To understand him, you have to know what "Murga" is. And murga is typical from urugay, in the sense of the importance. There are murgas in ither countries, Argentina nad spain, but, In Uruguay, Murga it´s a complex show, in wich diferents singers, have a "sketch", they have an start, a couple, and the "retirada". Always singin, or representing, most in the sketch, the Murga it´s a way that artist usein complex ways. They resume comedy, history, political critics, social, in 45 minutes, with costumes, lyrics, and offer a very nice spectacle. If you are here in febreaury, I will show you some murgas. They always plays in that time. It´s the celebration of "Dios Momo" the king or carnaval.

This is one of the songs that most like to me from Jaime Ross, and, there´s a lot of musicians, that plays in murgas.
* Trivia :P the guy wih themustahche uin 2:23 and the guy with the red guitar in 3:05 were in Garzón, in El galpón, plating the last summer.

Ross is too a huge footbal fan, and, of course, In a country like Uruguay, In where the fotball is breathen more than air, Ross is the choosen one to put sound to the old records from the goals that Uruguay made in 1930 and so far :P
Yes.. Im not a huge footbal fan =)

But, Ross Is too the referent for those that are in other countries, those that one day went out, and never come back to "el Paisísto" (the little country"
