Bajofondo Tango club

In middle of an electronic era, like this, it´s logical some evolutions, most in arts. But, There are some interesting things, that I like, and, others, that I don´t Like. Im a person conected to internet 24/7, but I hate technology, but I use it, a lot, and alway give thanks for live in this time, in this country, with the acces to the information, and technologies, that I have.

Bajofondo it´s a musical group that gives a bit of fresh air, to the Tango, milonga, mixing, in the begginig hip hop, lo fi, electrónica... and bla bla bla...
yes, I like Bajofondo, but, they have change a lot, since theyr first album. Wich is logical, if you have a good product, and a market to sell it. BUt, I don´t like when good music, becomes in just music, just to sell more cd´s.

As I say before, I like bajofondo, but, I love to say that, they are the cherry in a cake that they don´t mix. They just take the tools, developed since the nintees, and the referencies of trip hop, and IDM, the technology used by the electronic dj´s, and put it in another context. I clap my hands, happy for understand it, but, im a musician, a dj, and I love to work with sound... and it is my opinion.

They have three albums, I like this songs, wich are, what I thinkk, the interesting thing about the Bajofondo´s idea.

The live version, featured n the dvd "Bajofondo en el Solis" is much better, with strings, cello and violín. It´s warm, it´s nice. This is a video, a promo in the dvd. Even the album version is nice.


It´´s very similar to Gotan project.
Bajofondo were the "barrios bajos" in montevideo, and has a lot to see with the tango culture, the Arrabal, the bar, womans smoking, mans smiling and with gomina in their hairs... Something like the 40´s america, or the Sinatra´s time, bu, with tango, and in a tird world country =)

I´ll repeat it, I like Bajofondo, but... One of the members is Gustavo Santaolalla, the Latin American Director for Universal, the one who wins the oscar for the Brokeback mountain ost, and the one who helps to Drexler get one for the other score.
So, I know, they are excelent musics, but, Tango wasn´t so massive like they are... :P
